Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Doesn’t the shop or dealer already provide a diagnostic report?

A: Yes, dealerships do provide diagnostic reports, but EMS offers a completely unbiased assessment, as we don’t perform repairs or partner with shops. We bring dealership-grade OEM software directly to you, providing the same accuracy as the dealer without the pressure to purchase repairs. Our goal is to give you a trustworthy, transparent assessment, so you can make the best decisions for your car with confidence.

Q: How is EMS different from a regular mechanic?

A: Unlike most mechanics, we focus solely on diagnostics and use the same OEM software trusted by dealers. Independent shops often rely on aftermarket diagnostic tools that may not capture the full range of data available in your car’s proprietary systems, which means their reports can miss critical details. EMS’s report provides dealership-level accuracy, giving you a complete and clear understanding of your car’s condition before you choose any repairs.

Q: Can you help with specific types of diagnostics, like engine lights or electrical issues?

A: Yes. EMS uses OEM software to handle a wide range of issues. With the same tools as dealers to bring advanced diagnostics and high accuracy directly to you, wherever you need it.

Q: If I get a diagnostic report from EMS, will I have to pay for another one at the shop?

A: Most shops do charge for diagnostics, but they often apply that cost toward any repairs they perform, so you’re not paying twice. With EMS, you’re getting an unbiased, dealership-level diagnostic report that gives you a comprehensive understanding of any issues before you decide on repairs. This way, you can walk into any shop with confidence, knowing exactly what your car needs without relying solely on their diagnosis.

Q: Is there a benefit to inspecting my car even if it seems fine?

A: Think of it as a yearly physical for your car, getting your car scanned and inspected can reveal hidden issues that haven’t yet triggered a warning light, helping you catch minor problems early before they become costly. It also provides peace of mind, ensuring everything is running smoothly.

Q: How do I schedule an appointment?

A: Scheduling with EMS is easy. Just contact us through our website or give us a call, and we’ll arrange a time that’s convenient for you. Our team will come directly to your location.

Q: I am outside the service area, can you still help me?

A: We currently serve the 400 corridor of metro Atlanta including Buckhead, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, John’s Creek, Milton and East Cobb but are working to expand into other areas so feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
